Bio

With a love for musical storytelling, Danny Gray creates vivid and memorable scores for film, television, and multimedia.

An active composer for the production library 4 Elements Music, Danny has contributed music to television shows including Good Morning America, 20/20, PrimeTime: What Would You Do? and The Nate Berkus Show.  Recent independent film credits include The Golden Tree (Aria Pictures), and By the Riverside (NYU Tisch School of the Arts).  He also composed the theme music for the College Football Performance Awards.

In December 2011 Danny was selected as one of ten finalists in a theme song contest for MyOuterSpace.com's webisode series "The Zenoids" - chosen from over three hundred entries by a team of film industry professionals including Academy Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino and actor William Shatner.  Danny's music has also been featured on numerous classical radio programs, including WQXR's "Young Artist Showcase".

Apart from film and television, Danny frequently composes for the stage and the concert hall.  Ever inclined toward musical storytelling, many of his concert works draw upon literary influences such as the poetry of Edgar Allan Poe and the short stories of Washington Irving, with haunting melodies and vivid orchestration as trademarks.  Stage works include the ballet Only Photographs, commissioned by the Illuminations Dance Company, and incidental music to the world premieres of Joey Brenneman's Better Left Unsaid and Sean Pomposello's B*tch.

His debut instrumental album, "Erubescent Night", is available in major online music stores including iTunes and CDBaby.

Danny holds a B.M. in Composition from the Purchase College Conservatory of Music (State University of New York).  He participates regularly in film and multimedia scoring workshops, including graduate courses at New York University and the University of Southern California, GameSoundCon (presented by the Game Audio Network Guild), and Steven Scott Smalley's The Art of Orchestration.  He is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP).
